Pedro Carneiro

Pedro Carneiro is a researcher on the RISE Vietnam team and a Professor of Economics at University College London, a Research Fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Microdata Methods and Practice. His research interests include labour economics, the economics of education, development economics, and microeconometrics. In the past he has examined issues such as the returns to education, human capital policy, and labour regulation in developing countries. He has studied poverty and education programs in several countries in Latin America, Africa and Eastern Europe. He has published papers in several prestigious journals such as the American Economic Review, Econometrica, the Journal of Political Economy, and the Quarterly Journal of Economics.
