Burak Eskici
Burak Eskici is a project director at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), managing three research portfolios including that of the RISE India team. He is interested in creating efficient research teams and processes that will result in high-quality, impactful, and policy-relevant research projects in various areas including education, governance, social protection, financial inclusion, and poverty reduction. Before joining UCSD, Burak spent three years at J-PAL South Asia in a similar role, working on social service delivery. Prior to that, he was a Harvard College Fellow in the Department of Sociology, at Harvard University, where he taught courses on quantitative and qualitative methods, economic development, political sociology, and big data. He holds BS and MS degrees in Industrial Engineering from Bogazici University (Turkey), and a PhD in Sociology from Harvard University.
