Shruti Agarwal is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia. She is currently working on a randomised evaluation of a large-scale programme to improve foundational skills and school-readiness through introducing kindergarten in the public school system in Tamil Nadu. Prior to joining J-PAL, Shruti was an intern at J-PAL working on evaluations of several nutrition and education interventions. She holds a master’s degree in Economics from Ashoka University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Studies with a specialisation in Finance from the University of Delhi. Her academic interests are in the fields of political economy of education and economics of discrimination.
